The 1,300 sf renovation and 8,000 sf addition of this non-permanent shelter houses 40 battered women and their children. The residence surrounds an open courtyard and provides privacy and security for the families. Shared rooms and bathrooms are organized to accommodate families and individuals. The community kitchen, dining and living rooms bind the residential project and are key in creating a sense of home for the residents.
