This new addition to the Savannah State University Campus brings an extra measure of design interest to the western portion of the campus, which, until this date, has been reserved, primarily for playing fields. In addition to the multi-purpose, 5000 seat Basketball Arena contained within this new 93,000 sf building, there are numerous locker rooms, exercise areas designated for P.E., dance, and exercise physiology, administrative offices, coach's offices, classrooms and public meeting spaces. The adjacent site was also reconfigured to provide a new, well-drained football practice field, 299 surface parking spaces were added and numerous large live oaks adjacent to the building were preserved.
