Tucked in amongst ball fields and tennis courts, this community center with gymnasiums completes the recreational offerings in this 60-acre park. Composed of low masonry blocks of activity rooms in front of the high metal gymnasiums, the complex is centered about a glass and metal lobby. Sunscreens enliven the entry facade, while modulating the glare and potential heat gain through the massive glazed portal. Mindful of the budget constraints, manufactured metal buildings are utilized for the gymnasiums but natural materials and thematic colors tie the facility to its pastoral setting.
